♔ Python Chess Game ♚

Basic Rules:

• Click on a piece to select it
• Click on a valid square to move the piece
• White pieces are shown in blue, black pieces in red
• Valid moves will be highlighted when you select a piece

Piece Movements:

• ♙ Pawn: Moves forward 1 square (2 on first move), captures diagonally
• ♘ Knight: Moves in L-shape (2+1 squares)
• ♗ Bishop: Moves diagonally any distance
• ♖ Rook: Moves horizontally/vertically any distance
• ♕ Queen: Moves in any direction any distance
• ♔ King: Moves one square in any direction

Special Rules:

• Castling: King moves 2 squares towards rook, rook jumps over (neither piece has moved, path is clear, king not in check)
• En Passant: Pawn can capture adjacent opponent pawn that just moved 2 squares
• Pawn Promotion: When pawn reaches opposite end, it becomes Queen, Rook, Bishop, or Knight
• Check: King is under attack and must move to safety
• Checkmate: King is in check with no legal moves - game over!
• Stalemate: No legal moves but not in check - game is a draw

Controls:

• New Game: Start a fresh game
• Undo Move: Take back the last move
• 🤖 AI Hint: Get an unbiased move suggestion for the current player
• Help: Show this help dialog

AI Assistant:

• The AI analyzes the board and suggests the best move
• Works for both White and Black players without bias
• Considers piece values, position, threats, and opportunities
• Highlighted squares show the suggested move (glowing blue)
